Hello Rybersoft readers, here comes
an important trick to save your internet speed and your vital data for PC
users. Being a regular internet user through PC you must know the fact that
despite the availability of both PC and the smartphone on the same network, the
data used by PC is more than that of the smartphone.
If you aren't on a high speed DSL
connection that doesn't bill you on "charge per data unit used"
basis. And if so, then you ought to save your money by subscribing to packs
that tend to give you more data but by sacrificing network speed and bandwidth.
As a consequence you must be familiar with problem of slow speed, less bandwidth
and very limited & metered data. Then how to deal with this problem? Just
be cool and follow me doing this.
Preserving data, surfing & downloading on low speed (<15 kbps) can
be collectively done by following all the under given steps.
==>Use browsers like Opera:: This browser really
works well when your network speed is extremely slow. If you have an outdated
version of opera viz. v11.01 then you have the feature called Opera Turbo in it
that can load webpages at incredible low downloading speed of <5kbps in 3-4
seconds. But the only demerit of this 'old is gold' browser is that it crashes
regularly. A little later version of Opera viz. v18.0 features 'off-road mode',
if enabled can load webpages at down speed as low as <8kbps in 3-4 seconds
that is pretty good for use. Don't use Chrome or Nightly/Firefox in down speeds
of less than 10 kbps otherwise they will consume a lot of data while opening a
number of pages that is nearly equal to null and void.
==>Use a smart download manager:: If you're on
such a slow network then dump the idea that you'll ever download a file of any
type greater than 100MB. This is the extreme value, up to this or slightly more
can be only downloaded by someone whom has much patience and time to do it. It
is recommended to use a smart download managers like Free Download Manager
& Internet Download Manager (I am leaving rest of all managers because
these two are much popular and widespread). Set their downloading mode to
Heavy. Let only one file to be downloaded at once and set the manager to give
all the available bandwidth to it.(The above two options are easily available,
former is found to be in the menu bar and the latter at the right click pop up
of the file being downloaded).
==>Enable Metered Connections: This facility,
option or feature or whatever you call is provided by Windows that helps you to
save your finite data and thus increasing your speed since by enabling this
Windows will stop some of its important online processes for a particular
connection on which Metered connection is enabled. To enable it just go to
rightmost corner of the taskbar click on the network icon, then right click on
the network to which you're connected and then select Metered Connection.
==>Stop Windows Update:: During net usage the
first rival that competes with your browser for bandwidth is Windows Update
task host. During such a harsh condition of internet as discussed above, it
will be foolish to set Windows to automatically install updates. To turn it off
go to Control Panel then System and Security, there you'll find Windows Update,
click to open its window and set Windows not to install or even check for
updates. By default if you've enabled the Metered connection you need not to
perform this particular step.
==>Stop online System process:: Further you can
stop system processes from consuming your bandwidth. For this you have first go
to CONTROL PANEL select Network and Internet then click on Network status and
tasks, in this window you will see Change Adapter setting at left upper corner
click to open its window. Right click on your active connection and select
properties. There you guys will see a new window opened. There you have to
uncheck the checkbox that is named as 'Client for Microsoft Networks'. After
that Windows wouldn't access resources from Microsoft network anymore from the
selected particular network. Use this only when you're helpless in terms of
speed otherwise if you permanently disable these online processes then Windows
will suffer from non-smooth or rough functioning.
==>Use NetBalancer app:: Most important of all other methods this is application can prove you very fruitful if you really want to monitor, control and tailor your internet speed. I can bet that you wouldn't be disappointed after using this app. So guys use NetBalancer app. But what this app is all about? Oh! So sorry I forgot to tell that NetBalancer app, provided by Serious Bit is a traffic shaper and system network balancer.
It shows the
network traffic on your computer and helps you set limits, priorities and rules
for it.
Form this app you
can set download limit to a particular process. For this just open the main
window right click on the process that you want to limit. Now in the pop-up
opened select download priority then you will find another pop-up choose the
option limit. Then you'll find a new window opened. In this Window set your
download limit. As an alternative shortcut you can also double click on the
running online process to open Edit priority window.
You can also set
the processes priority as high, normal, low, block, ignore or you can simply
end the processes of some applications directly by right click pop-up. If you
do so then you can save much of your bandwidth and that in turn will save your
data and enhance speed.
Much more you can do with NetBalancer.
If you collectively follow all the steps then you will manage browsing
& downloading at a low speed.
