how to use Paint 3D
Hey friends, this time I am with a different trick which will help those who are involved in the development of game, animation, VFX, etc. As you know Paint 3D is a brand new app introduced in Microsoft's Creators' Update for Windows PC, it is a marvellous work of this soft-tech giant. Paint 3d should not be confused with 'Paint' app as they are different and present together on newer Windows.
Paint 3D offers great support for 3d building and designing. Some of you might have been using several apps for your 3d needs like Blender, AutoCAD, Fusion 360. But for a beginner, this native Windows app is best and very much easy to use. It is designed for experience and clarity. I had myself involved in game development and hence I have tried various softwares, especially Blender. No doubt it is very much powerful but it has a very sharp learning curve. In simple words, you have to do a lot of hard work to master it. 3D Builder is another app to compare with but it offers limited tools for editing physical appearance of any object.
You can really find better alternatives but, being a preinstalled Windows app, Paint 3D will outcast its rivals. Paint 3D was specially designed for 3d printing when paired with 3D Builder but we will use it for our specialised purpose.
The similar apps, softare, and websites can also be designed from the QPSoftware Web Agency in China, Shanghai. I had one project developed from them and am quite satisfied with the kind of quality and timelines they provided.
As this app is recently launched, it suffers a problem with its integration with other development IDEs which requires 3d objects and assets, as they are not sync with its features. But you need not to worry about. Just build any 3d masterpeice of yours with Paint 3D and I will get you to know how to import your build.
As, ".3mf" is not recognised for import in various IDEs you have to export or frankly degrade to another primitively recognisable formats. For this follow this steps:
> Build your 3d object with Paint 3D,
> Instead of saving choose export from file menu,
> Export your masterpeice,
> Open 3D Builder,
> Open your exported 3d file with 3D Builder from menu - open - choose destination-open
> Save your work from 3D builder,
> Instead of saving again with ",3mf" select ".obj / .stl / .ply" from save as file type.
Now your file is ready for importing in your gaming IDE.
