In today's world of cloud files every families and offices now share files with each other using any of the cloud servers and one of mostly used is the free Dropbox service. But a problem occurs of you are using Linux. And here we are to discuss how you can join the fun of dropbox by installing Dropbox on Linux.
All needs to do is just a little extra work. First make sure to have some necessary packages. Use package manager to see if you have Python 2.2 or greater and get installed. One more requirement is a web browser.
Go to dropbox.com and download the Linux source package. You should get a file that ends in .tar.bz2. Most Linux users call this tarball—the Linux equivalent of a Windows zip file. To extract it, run this command in your terminal: "tar xjf nautilus-dropbox*.tar.bz2". It should create a directory named .dropbox-dist in current directory. Now you need to start the Dropbox service by running the command ".dropbox-dist/dropboxd".This service which is also know as a daemon will print a message similar to the sample below that will prompt to activate Dropbox on your computer.

Now Setup your Dropbox account using the instructions on the screen and it will create a folder in your home directory and all files in this directory will be synced with Dropbox’s server.
