Here’s a quick and easy guide to use the same WhatsApp account on two different devices while keeping the same mobile number.
The world of smartphones is evolving. Their use has become so frequent that having only one phone (or a single SIM card) is not enough. In fact, many people have begun to use dual-SIM mobile phones, or two devices for different purposes. There’s usually one for the family and one for work (or, in some cases, for lovers!).
The reasons may be different, but the problem is that one phone is simply not enough anymore.
So, when we get a second phone, some questions arise: How can I use WhatsApp on two phones simultaneously? Do I have to create two different accounts, one for each telephone number? In this article, we show you how to do it. The technique is well within everyone’s reach, even for non-experts. In just a few steps, you will have your WhatsApp account on two different phones.
In this article we will examine this technique in detail. The whole
procedure is fast and simple and works on many different mobile platforms (Android, Apple iPhone, Windows Phone, etc.).
A quick note before moving on to the guide. The “trick” works both on smartphones and tablets of any kind.
Run WhatsApp on two devices via WhatsApp Web:
the guide
When you create a new WhatsApp account, you have to provide your phone number and wait for a text message with a code. This procedure prevents you from using
the same WhatsApp account on two different phones.
Officially there is no way to overcome this limitation, but there is a simple trick that allows us to do so. That is possible thanks to a new service called WhatsApp Web . By using this service, you can have the same WhatsApp account on two devices. The only requirement is that both of the devices must have an Internet connection available. Finally, at least one of the two must have WhatsApp installed.
Let’s move on to the step-by-step guide.
How to install WhatsApp accounts on two different phones
First of all, make sure both phones have an Internet connection and WhatsApp installed.
At this point, do the following:
Be sure to have WhatsApp updated to the latest version available.
Open the second phone’s browser (Chrome, Firefox or Safari) and go to web.whatsapp.com.
From the browser’s settings select the “desktop site” mode.
If the desktop version has been successfully activated, you will see a QR code on the page.
On the first phone, go to Settings > WhatsApp Web (this step will activate the QR code scanner).
Now, scan the QR code that appears on the screen of the second phone with the first phone’s camera. It will not take much time.
Once the scan is complete, the account of the first phone will be automatically activated on the second one.
That’s all! Now, if you carried out all steps correctly, you’ll have the same WhatsApp account active on both phones.
P.S. The same procedure can be used on a tablet (iPad, etc.) instead of a phone. This way, you can have the same WhatsApp account on your phone and tablet.
To log out, go on WhatsApp Web using the first phone. Click on Settings,(the three dots on the top in the column of contacts) and then log out. By doing so, you will only use WhatsApp on one device again.
Note: This technique only works with two phones that have WhatsApp installed. If you try to connect to a third mobile device, the service will need you to log out of one before proceeding.
