There are two ways to block ads in Android devices. One method works with the rooted

1. Go to Google Play Store.
2. Search for “Root Checker” and Install this app. Root Checker is available on Google Play Store. You can install it for free. It will check your device and will show you whether your device has a root access or not. After confirmation, you can follow the method suitable for you.
After enabling Unknown Sources, follow the link given below to download Adblock Plus

Download Adblock Plugin APK
After launching Adblock Plus, you will be prompted to grant access to Superuser. Tap on
“Grant” to proceed the process.
Now, Adblock Plus will offer you subscription options. Choose any, which suits your
requirements. You can also choose between Block all Ads or just Inappropriate Ads. Ads
with sounds or video Ads are included in inappropriate ads category.

2. Tap on “Wifi”.
3. Now you will see all the connections. Tap and keep holding the connection you
generally use. (If you use more than one connections then do it for all.)
4. Now, select “Modify Network”.
5. Tap on “Show Advanced Options”.
6. Here, you’ll find Proxy Settings. Switch it to manual.
7. After this, you will see more options. Now, change the entry of Proxy Hostname to localhost.
8. Now, change Proxy Port number. Proxy Port number will be the one which Adblock
Plus has given to you.
That's it.
Note: You can hide the Adblock Plus icon from notification drawer. For that, go to Settings
> Apps > Adblock Plus. Here, just uncheck the Show Notification box.
